The Challenge: 14 years into its new democracy, South Africa was still beset with many of its own challenges. Who else to hold power to account and advocate for true social change than the country’s legion of cartoonists? Unfortunately,  they were in disarray. They needed to be organised into a collective force.

The Solution: Because we believe in the power of cartoons to effect social change, we offered our time and resources to launch Africartoons which has since become a pan African network of over 100 of the continent’s finest cartoonists, with digital archives of over 25,000 cartoons, and a Facebook following of 1,150,000 supporters.
